A New Era, a New Name

Google recently announced the renaming of its generative AI-based conversation tool, Bard, to Gemini. This evolution aims to simplify and harmonize the user experience around the Gemini model, which is now integrated by default on Android and accessible via the Google application on iOS.

From text generation to image creation, Gemini opens up new perspectives for AI.

On December 6, the American computer juggernaut, Google, unveiled its new artificial intelligence model: Gemini. This innovation aims to propel Google to the top of the pack in the generative AI race, a field where major competitors such as OpenAI and Microsoft are already competing.

Google's new generative AI model, Gemini, comes in three distinct forms:

Ultra : designed for the most complex and demanding tasks in terms of computing power.

Pro : the intermediate version, adapted to the majority of requests and offering a good balance between performance and accessibility.

Nano : the miniaturized version, optimized for “embedded” tasks (on-device). These are done directly on the user device, without requiring a connection to the cloud.

Google announces Gemini Ultra for an Advanced Version of Bard

Google has revealed its plans for Gemini Ultra, the most powerful version of its generative AI model. The latter will be deployed at the beginning of the next year in an advanced version of Bard, the company's conversational chatbot. This advanced version will be chargeable, based on the ChatGPT Plus model, which offers access to GPT-4 for a monthly subscription of 20 dollars.

Google has revealed the results of the MMLU (Massive Multitask Language Understanding) tests for Gemini Ultra, the most powerful version of its generative AI model. With a score of 90%, Gemini Ultra surpasses the performance of human experts in 57 different thematic areas, a first in the field of AI.

Gemini Advanced

Following the example of OpenAI and its ChatGPT Plus application, Google is launching Gemini Advanced, a premium version of its conversational AI powered by Gemini Ultra 1.0. This advanced version is available through a new package: Google One AI Premium Plan.

Google One AI Premium Plan: A package for demanding users

Google One AI Premium Plan is designed for users who want the best experience with Google AI services. In addition to Gemini Advanced, this package offers:

  • Priority access to the latest AI features
  • Increased abilities for creative tasks
  • Dedicated technical support

The Google One AI Premium Plan Gemini integrates with favorite productivity tools including Gmail, Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

Gemini Pro integrates with Bard, the Google chatbot, for a rich language experience

Gemini Pro, the intermediate version of Google's generative AI model, partners with Bard, the company's conversational chatbot. This collaboration aims to offer a new linguistic experience, in English only and in 170 countries at the moment. European Union countries will not be included in this first phase.

Nano brings new features to Pixel 8 Pro

Nano, the miniaturized version of Google's generative AI model, paves the way for new features on the Pixel 8 Pro, the company's latest high-end smartphones launched last October. This innovation makes it possible to harness the power of AI directly on devices, without relying on the cloud, for a rich and seamless user experience.

“Its ability to work in multiple languages and reason about complex information makes it one of the main basic models for coding in the world.”

Gemini is distinguished by its ability to process and generate multimodal content. Text, image, and audio can thus be analyzed simultaneously to provide a richer and more nuanced understanding of complex topics, such as physics or mathematics. This approach allows Gemini to offer more complete and accurate answers to user requests.

Gemini: Imminent deployment on a wide range of Google services

Already available on Google Board and Pixel 8 Pro, Google's Gemini Generative AI model is about to conquer new horizons. In the coming months, it will be integrated with others of the company's flagship services, such as Chrome, Search Ads, and Duet AI. This expansion will allow a wide audience to take advantage of its revolutionary capabilities for an enriched user experience.

This generative AI model from Google paves the way for a new future, where artificial intelligence is at the service of humans in a more powerful and responsible way than ever. Gaining efficiency, boosting creativity and producing high-quality content are becoming tangible realities thanks to these revolutionary tools.
